The Fluffy White Stuff

Hi Everyone, just thought I'd share a few photos with you that my hubby took in the garden this morning.  The dogs loved all this white stuff, the bees were hopefully snug in their hives but the chickens were completely bewildered by it all.

The snow had blown into quite deep drifts in places.  The car was imprisoned in the garage which didn't matter too much as the snow had drifted from the road to our gate  so we couldn't get out anyway.  Just as well we bought a new snow shovel yesterday! Well, I suppose we had to have some sooner or later 'Roll On Spring'

I'd also like to share with you a card I made for my Great Niece a while ago.  The image is digital, can't remember where from.  Using bookatrix I cut out pearlescent card in shades of pink which I layered.  I made pink roses using Brenda's template (I had a bit of trouble with them, they didn't hold together very well - my fault entirely) and punched out some leaves to finish.  The sentiment was computer generated and I used nesties to cut out both this and the image .  Finished with ribbon and crystals.  I also made a little stand with a template from the internet.

Thanks for looking. Take care, Linda x

Well Done You!

Hi Everyone, I'm back!  Well I haven't been away really, I have been checking blogland out from time to time.  The trouble is that during the spring and summer there is so much to do in the garden and we also have a Caravan Club CL so are busy with that as well.  And to add to this we have started bee keeping this year and that has been very eventful!  Hopefully we shall have some honey soon.

Anyway, just to show you a card I made for my precious granddaughter who had a very good school report so I thought she deserved a card from nanny and grandad and a little something in with it that she could spend in a well known high street store - hopefully a book but I suspect it will be all the pink pencils (has to be pink - I should have used pink on the card but I like shades of blue and lilac) and pencil sharpeners, erasers etc that you can buy these days!

The image is a LOTV stamp coloured with Copics.  I think it's sooo cute!  The papers are digital from Pink Petticoat and I've also used Bazzill cardstock in a lilac shade.  Martha Stewart punches were used for the border and corner and ric rac ribbon.   I used eyelets on the band and threaded ric rac through. The sentiment was computer generated, cut out and mounted onto a punched circle.

Hope you like it!

Birthday Boy

Hi everyone.  quite a grey day here today but the snowdrops are coming through so spring must be on it's way!  The card I'm sharing with you today is created with a Molly Blooms free stamp which came with my craft magazine.  I'm a fan of Molly Blooms and I think this image of George is really cute.  The bunting is also a Molly Blooms stamp.  I coloured the images with Copics and used a blue ink pad around the edges.  The dotted scallop edge was created using a Fiskers border punch.  The present is cut from Cricut Celebrations cartridge.  I wrote on the tag as I didn't have a stamp small enough. The papers, card and buttons are from stash.   I'm entering this into this weeks Allsorts Challenge Blog and Cards for Men Let's Party challenge.  Hope you like!

Cards for Men Challenge

Hi All.  What awful weather today, it's dark and rainy and cold - just the sort of day for making some cards and having a bit of a blog.  This card I've made for my dear old dad who is 88 years young next Wednesday and I'm also entering it for this weeks' Cards for Men Challenge which is a sketch challange.  The image and the background papers are from the Joanna Sheen CD - Eastern Treasures.  The grey oval I cut using my Cricut 'George and Basic Shapes' and then I ran this through a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I distressed the grey card edges with a Tim Holtz distress tool and used a computer generated greeting, ( I downloaded a free font as I wanted something Oriental), and then threaded some red ribbon through the coins and attached to the card with sticky dots.  Hope you like!  Linda x

Happy Christmas

Hi everyone, just finished wrapping the presents so thought I'd have a quick blog before the sherry comes out (lol).  I thought I'd share a few cards with you today, the first one I made for my dad using a Sarah Kay stamp which I've coloured with copics and around the edge I've used an Adirondack dabber in gold. I've used distress ink pads on the backgrounds and one of these I sprayed with glimmer mists then stamped with Hero Arts French Writing stamp.  A couple of bits of green ribbon and a stamped sentiment completes.

These next two saucy ones are for my youngest son (it's OK he's 30 now) and my nephew who is a couple of years older.  Both have been unlucky in love this year so I thought these cards might bring a smile to their faces.  They are digital downloads from Kenny K which I've coloured with copics and matted and layered with red and white card and distressed the edges.

The final card is using Molly Bloom stamps and I used a similar layout as Clare has on her blog so not really my own design.  I've used my copics for colouring and the border punch I used on the tag edge and gingham side panel is a fiskers.  Paper from stash and printed gingham paper from CD.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and great New Year - Linda x

Pink for a girl

Good morning everyone!  It's cold and frosty here this morning but at least the sun is shining.  I'm sharing with you today a card I've made for a new baby girl.  I've used a Penny Black stamp and coloured with copics.  A Martha Stewart punch was used for the heart border.  Sentiment is from a set by Paula Pascual which I've punched out and mounted onto a nesties scallop circle.  Card, papers, ribbon and buttons from stash.  Hope you like!  Hope you all have a nice day - Linda x
